Dubai – In a significant development strengthening India’s global trade diplomacy and India’s BRICS chair for 2026, Mr. Nikil Kumar Goyal, a distinguished international entrepreneur and trade facilitator, has been appointed Honorary Trade Commissioner for India SCO Trade Council in the UAE.
With over 17 years of cross-continental leadership spanning Asia, Africa, Europe, and the Middle East, Mr. Goyal brings deep expertise in international trade, economic diplomacy, and strategic investment facilitation. His appointment recognizes his sustained contribution to advancing India’s trade interests and fostering multi-lateral economic cooperation under the BRICS and SCO frameworks.
Mr. Goyal is the Founder and Promoter of the Sunshine Group of Companies, a diversified multinational enterprise operating across India, the UAE, Hong Kong, Singapore, and Africa. The group is actively engaged in renewable energy, agro-industrial ventures, pharmaceutical ingredients, petrochemical derivatives, infrastructure development, and global supply-chain solutions, serving markets across the USA, Europe, East Asia, Africa, and the Middle East.
Throughout his career, he has played a pivotal role in developing transparent and compliant international trade mechanisms, including ASEAN FTA, LDC, and GCC frameworks. His work has consistently aligned private-sector innovation with India’s foreign trade priorities, reinforcing South–South cooperation and strengthening India’s presence across Eurasian and emerging markets.
A respected figure in global business diplomacy, Mr. Goyal has been an active participant in leading international platforms such as UNCTAD corporate forums, AIM Congress (UAE), BRICS Business Council engagements, and SCO economic dialogues. He has also contributed extensively to India’s overseas trade ecosystem through his engagement with the NRI business community in the Gulf region.
Under his guidance, group entities that he is associated have achieved internationally recognized certifications including ISO 9001, GMP, HACCP, Halal, Kosher, and SA 8000, strengthening India’s credibility in global value chains.

He will lead a trade delegation of business entities for the upcoming GCC BRICS Business forum to be held in Qatar in February 2026, which will see trade and economic diplomacy players from all over the region.
